STEM Sparks Curiosity
Jan 23 2025
On Wednesday, 22nd January 2025, Alder Grove CofE Primary School hosted an exciting STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Maths) Workshop, welcoming six schools from both the Trust and the local community. The event was organised in partnership with Playing STEAM, a local company known for running engaging after-school and holiday clubs.
The workshop provided an inspiring hands-on experience for Year 3 and 4 pupils, who explored a range of STEM-based challenges. Activities included:
- Engineering – Building sturdy structures like budding architects
- Technology – Programming robots to complete tasks
- Science & Discovery – Unearthing gemstones in a simulated archaeological dig
The afternoon was buzzing with excitement, as pupils worked together in school teams to problem-solve, create, and experiment. It was wonderful to see their enthusiasm and teamwork, as they collaborated with peers from other Trust schools, strengthening both their skills and sense of community.
The feedback from both children and staff was overwhelmingly positive, with many eager for more STEM opportunities in the future.
We look forward to building on this success and bringing our schools together for more inspiring learning experiences in the months ahead!
