Become a Local Governor or Trustee
We warmly welcome interest from individuals who would like to become part of the governance of our Trust and schools either as a Trustee or Local Governor.
Both roles are voluntary. They are rewarding roles and you will play a vital role in sharing the education of children, by helping to set the ethos, vision, and strategy to our schools.
We are looking for people who are interested in education, able to work well with others, are willing to listen and make informed judgements, and committed to continual improvement of our schools. Previous governance experience is not essential. Particular business skills that are useful include HR, finance, law or experience in business management.
Extensive ongoing training opportunities are provided on a variety of subjects. Recent training sessions have included:
- Governor Induction
- Headteacher Performance Management
- Understanding Data
- Finance and Risk Management
- Exclusions and Suspensions
Regular Governance Network meetings and an Annual Governance Conference are also opportunities to work collaboratively with other LGBs, two-way communication, develop your skills, hear about national trends and learn from others' experiences.
We always welcome enquiries from those looking for governance work. If you would like to know more about becoming a Trustee or Local Governor, please contact: clerk@keysacademytrust.org
